welCOME TO MY LIFE

I’m Melissa Dacher, the woman behind Five Point Five. I am an Oncology-trained licensed esthetician, HydraFacial Master, DMK Certified Paramedical Skin Revision Specialist, AMCA Certified Associate Trichologist and Hair Loss Practicioner with a former background in design and makeup artistry. As a makeup artist I loved being able to teach people how to enhance their features, camouflage their perceived “flaws”, and the boost of self-confidence they’d get from feeling good about their appearance.

As I’ve gotten older though, I’ve become more focused on correcting skin and scalp conditions rather than covering them up. Our skin is a big deal—LITERALLY. It’s our largest organ and greatly contributes to our health by providing a barrier between the outside world and the highly regulated systems within our body.

From group discussions with colleagues, listening to podcasts from industry professionals, researching ingredients and new devices, and staying up to date on the latest innovations—I am a huge believer in continued education and I love learning the science behind things. Skin health is my life, and I want to share my knowledge with you to help you better understand your skin and reach your desired goals.

As a licensed professional it’s my passion to help you feel beautiful, comfortable, and confident in your own skin. I am a results-driven esthetician with a focus on bringing the skin and scalp back to a harmonious balance, as well as promoting a balanced lifestyle for overall health and wellness. Let me help you face life by putting your best face forward.

so what is ‘five point five’?

Five Point Five (5.5) is the pH of healthy, balanced skin, and my practice if founded on the principles of balance. Healthy skin comes from a healthy barrier function, which comes from the balance of oil, lipids, and water content in our skin. When the production of any one of those things is off—due to intrinsic or extrinsic factors—it changes the pH of our skin and our protective acid mantle, causing a host of skin problems. Our skin is also a direct reflection of what's going on inside our bodies. When internal organs cannot properly get rid of waste, stress, or even negativity, those imbalances are outwardly demonstrated.

My goal is to bring the skin back to a state of homeostasis. That comes from taking a holistic approach and analyzing not only your skin, but also your diet, lifestyle, and current home care routine in order to select the right combination of products for treatment and corrective care. It's all about trying to understand the underlying problem(s) and minimizing inflammation while maximizing healing. Every single treatment is custom-tailored and results-driven with a healthy dose of relaxation. When you leave my treatment room, you’ll walk out glowing, confident, and with the knowledge on how to get the results you deserve.
